Los estudios de máster tienen como finalidad la adquisición de una formación avanzada, de carácter especializado o multidisciplinar, orientada a la especialización académica o profesional, o bien a la iniciación en las tareas investigadoras.
Generalmente, los másteres tienen una orientación estratégica que hace que aborden una o diversas disciplinas con un enfoque amplio.
Los másteres requieren de 60 a 120 créditos ECTS, cursados normalmente en uno o dos años académicos, estando regulados actualmente por la Ley Organica 2/2023, del sistema Universitario (LOSU) y en el Real Decreto 822/2021.
Se accede con una titulación de grado o equivalente.
Los estudios de máster están formados por los másteres oficiales y los másteres de Formación permanente
